Samsung and Yahoo Media Group Partner to Bring Live Sports and Financial Market Updates to Samsung News
October 1, 2025 — Samsung is enhancing the news experience for Galaxy users by integrating real-time sports scores and financial market information directly into Samsung News. This marks the first major expansion of features within the app, made possible through a strategic partnership with Yahoo Media Group, the operator of Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance.
A Seamless Experience for Sports and Finance Fans
Galaxy smartphone and tablet users can now access up-to-the-minute updates on their favorite sports teams and financial markets with ease. A new Sports tab within Samsung News offers live scores, schedules, standings, and statistics from top sports leagues. Fans can personalize their newsfeed by selecting specific teams and sports to follow, ensuring they stay on top of every buzzer-beater and critical play.
In parallel, Samsung News introduces a dedicated Yahoo Finance module that delivers real-time financial market tracking, including major U.S. indices. Alongside live market data, users receive a continuous stream of curated financial headlines from leading news outlets, keeping them informed on market movers and economic developments as they happen.
Trusted Information Powered by Industry Leaders
As established leaders in digital media with decades of expertise, Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance provide credible, comprehensive coverage that Samsung News users can rely on. This integration means Galaxy customers can access breaking sports headlines, expert market analysis, and rich multimedia content—all seamlessly within the Samsung ecosystem.
Maya Harris, Vice President and Head of Strategic Partnerships for Samsung’s TV & Mobile Services, stated, “Galaxy users turn to Samsung News multiple times a day for the latest headlines from the world’s top news sources. Now they have another critical reason to tune in for access to live sports scores and financial markets updates. With Yahoo’s trusted real-time information, Samsung News is a live destination for sports fans and market followers alike.”
Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group, added, “We’re thrilled to partner with Samsung to integrate both Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance into the Samsung News experience. Together, we’re creating a smarter, faster way for Galaxy users to follow the scores, news, and market information that matters most to them.”

Beyond sports and finance, Samsung News continues to deliver daily briefings twice a day, featuring the latest in politics, entertainment, business, and more, curated by experienced news editors. Users can customize their news feed with content from a wide range of partners such as Yahoo, NBC News, ESPN, Fox Business, as well as newer additions like Complex and Time Out.
