Samsung and Yahoo Media Group Partner to Bring Live Sports and Financial Market Updates to Samsung News
In a significant enhancement of the Samsung News platform, Samsung has announced a new partnership with Yahoo Media Group to offer real-time live sports scores and financial market information directly within Samsung News. This marks the first major expansion of features for Samsung News, providing Galaxy users with instant access to up-to-the-minute sports and financial data without leaving the app.
Real-Time Sports and Financial Information Within Samsung News
Starting October 1, 2025, Samsung News users on compatible Galaxy devices in the US and Canada can enjoy two new dedicated features powered by Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance. A new Sports tab offers live scores, schedules, standings, and statistics from top professional leagues, allowing fans to personalize their experience by following their favorite teams and sports. Simultaneously, a new stock market module delivers real-time financial market updates, tracking major U.S. indices alongside a curated feed of financial headlines from leading news sources.
Trusted Digital Media Authority
Yahoo Media Group, which operates Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance, brings decades of expertise and trusted reporting in digital sports and finance media. Integrating these services into Samsung News allows Galaxy users to stay informed with breaking headlines, expert market analysis, and in-depth written and video sports coverage—all seamlessly accessible from within the Samsung ecosystem.
Executive Insights on the Partnership
Maya Harris, Vice President and Head of Strategic Partnerships for Samsung’s TV & Mobile Services, emphasized the importance of this integration: “Galaxy users turn to Samsung News multiple times a day for the latest headlines from the world’s top news sources. Now they have another critical reason to tune-in for access to live sports scores and financial markets updates. With Yahoo’s trusted real-time information, Samsung News is a live destination for sports fans and market followers alike.”
Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group, shared enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We’re thrilled to partner with Samsung to integrate both Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance into the Samsung News experience. Together, we’re creating a smarter, faster way for Galaxy users to follow the scores, news, and market information that matters most to them.”

Beyond sports and finance, Samsung News continues to provide users with comprehensive news coverage across categories including politics, entertainment, and business. Daily Briefings are delivered twice daily and curated by experienced editors, while users can customize their news feed preferences with content from partners such as NBC News, ESPN, Fox Business, Complex, and Time Out.
This update supports English language in the US and Canada, with additional languages and regions planned for future rollout. The new features are compatible with all Galaxy smartphones and tablets released from 2023 onwards.
