Samsung and Yahoo Media Group Collaborate to Enhance Samsung News with Live Sports and Financial Market Features

Samsung has announced a significant expansion of its Samsung News app by partnering with Yahoo Media Group to integrate real-time sports and financial market information. This marks the first major feature enhancement for Samsung News, delivering live, personalized updates directly within the app for Galaxy device users.

Real-Time Sports and Market Updates Within Samsung News

Starting October 1, 2025, Galaxy smartphone and tablet users in the US and Canada can tap into live sports scores, schedules, standings, and detailed statistics through a new dedicated Sports tab powered by Yahoo Sports. This feature allows sports fans to customize their experience by following their favorite teams and leagues, keeping them effortlessly up-to-date on game progress and highlights.

In parallel, a new finance module powered by Yahoo Finance provides real-time market tracking, including major U.S. stock indices and a curated stream of financial news headlines. This module offers investors and market watchers instant access to breaking news, expert analysis, and evolving economic data within the familiar Samsung ecosystem.

Trusted Sources and Seamless Integration

Yahoo Media Group brings decades of expertise and authority in digital sports and financial media, ensuring that Samsung News users receive reliable, high-quality content. The live updates, expert insights, and multimedia coverage enrich Samsung News’s comprehensive service, which also delivers daily briefings covering politics, entertainment, and business through handpicked articles and videos.

Maya Harris, Vice President and Head of Strategic Partnerships for Samsung’s TV & Mobile Services, highlighted the benefits of this integration, stating, “Galaxy users turn to Samsung News multiple times a day for the latest headlines from the world’s top news sources. Now they have another critical reason to tune in for access to live sports scores and financial markets updates.”

Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We’re thrilled to partner with Samsung to integrate both Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance into the Samsung News experience. Together, we’re creating a smarter, faster way for Galaxy users to follow the scores, news, and market information that matters most to them.”

Broader News Offering and User Customization

Beyond sports and finance, Samsung News continues to provide extensive coverage across multiple genres, including politics, entertainment, and business, sourced from reputable partners such as NBC News, ESPN, Fox Business, Complex, and Time Out. Users can personalize their news feed preferences to suit their interests, accessing a rich variety of content conveniently within one app.

Availability and Compatibility

The updated Samsung News experience, featuring the new Sports tab and financial market module, is currently available in English for users in the United States and Canada. Samsung plans to roll out additional language support and expand to more regions soon. The features are compatible with all Galaxy smartphones and tablets released from 2023 onward.

This collaboration between Samsung and Yahoo Media Group underscores both companies’ commitment to enhancing the user experience by providing seamless access to the most relevant and timely content, empowering Galaxy users to stay informed on the go like never before.
