Samsung and Yahoo Media Group Partner to Enhance Samsung News with Live Sports and Financial Market Updates

Samsung has announced a new partnership with Yahoo Media Group to deliver real-time sports scores and financial market information directly within the Samsung News app, marking the first significant expansion of features in the platform. This development promises Galaxy users seamless access to personalized, timely updates powered by Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance.

A New Era for Samsung News Users

Starting October 1, 2025, Samsung News introduces a dedicated Sports tab and a financial market module, both curated by Yahoo Media Group, a pioneer with decades of expertise in digital media. Galaxy smartphone and tablet users can now follow their favorite sports teams, view live game scores, schedules, standings, and statistics, all personalized to their preferences. For fans and market watchers alike, the integration offers breaking headlines, expert analysis, and rich sports coverage including written and video formats—all within the familiar Samsung ecosystem.

In the financial realm, the app now features a Yahoo Finance-powered module that tracks major U.S. stock market indices and delivers a stream of curated financial news from top news providers. This enhancement equips users to stay informed on market trends and economic developments as they unfold.

Statements from Leadership

Maya Harris, Vice President and Head of Strategic Partnerships for Samsung’s TV & Mobile Services, emphasized the value of this partnership: “Galaxy users turn to Samsung News multiple times a day for the latest headlines from the world’s top news sources. Now they have another critical reason to tune in for access to live sports scores and financial markets updates. With Yahoo’s trusted real-time information, Samsung News is a live destination for sports fans and market followers alike.”

Echoing this enthusiasm, Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group, remarked, “We’re thrilled to partner with Samsung to integrate both Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance into the Samsung News experience. Together, we’re creating a smarter, faster way for Galaxy users to follow the scores, news, and market information that matters most to them.”

Comprehensive News Coverage and Customization

Beyond live sports and market data, Samsung News continues to offer extensive coverage of politics, entertainment, business, and more through twice-daily Daily Briefings curated by expert editors. Users have robust customization options within the News Feed, sourcing content from over a dozen partners including Yahoo, NBC News, ESPN, Fox Business, Complex, and Time Out to tailor the news experience.

Availability

This feature expansion is currently available in English across the United States and Canada and is compatible with all Galaxy smartphones and tablets released from 2023 onward. Samsung plans to roll out additional languages and territories in the near future.

The collaboration between Samsung and Yahoo Media Group exemplifies the growing integration of real-time, personalized content within mobile news platforms, offering Galaxy users enriched access to the sports and financial information that matters most, all within one app.
