Roman Reigns Reflects on The Rock, Cody Rhodes, Tommy Fury Eyes WWE Future, and NXT Rumors on Oba Femi

The WWE Universe has been abuzz with recent developments involving top stars Roman Reigns, The Rock, Cody Rhodes, and rising prospects in NXT, along with intriguing backstage insights. Bleacher Report captures the latest updates shaping WWE’s present and future storylines.

Roman Reigns Shares Thoughts on WrestleMania 40 Main Event, The Rock, and Cody Rhodes

In an insightful interview on the SI Media podcast with Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina, Roman Reigns addressed his feelings regarding the main event scene at WrestleMania 40. WWE fans witnessed Reigns defending his WWE Championship across two nights in a saga involving Cody Rhodes and The Rock.

Reigns was initially considered to face The Rock at WrestleMania 40, but plans shifted toward a match with Rhodes following his Royal Rumble victory. Despite these behind-the-scenes changes and fan reactions, Reigns said it didn’t matter to him who he faced as long as he was in the main event spotlight.

“It doesn’t matter to me. I was the main event. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with,” Reigns stated. “They are trying to stop history from happening. It’s the same task in hand for me.”

After some storyline twists, The Rock allied with Reigns as a heel, The Final Boss, teaming up against Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night 1 of WrestleMania 40. The event culminated in Rhodes defeating Reigns to claim the WWE Championship on Night 2. Looking ahead, when asked about a potential future showdown with The Rock, Reigns left the door open contingent on fan demand. “If that’s what the people want and The People’s Champ is down, I’m sure we can make something happen,” he said.

The Rock made an unannounced return at the recent Bad Blood event but has yet to clarify his intentions or appear since. With the Bloodline factions set to collide in a WarGames match at Survivor Series, the stage might be set for The Rock’s reemergence and a possible clash with his cousin Reigns.

Tommy Fury Expresses Interest in Joining WWE

Outside wrestling, professional boxer Tommy Fury, brother of former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, hinted at a potential career move into WWE. Appearing backstage during WWE’s UK tour, Fury posted a video expressing gratitude to WWE stars such as Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Gunther, adding he looks forward to “possibly climbing through those ropes one day.”

At 25, Tommy Fury boasts a perfect 10-0 boxing record and remains noted for defeating social media star Jake Paul. Given his ties to the Paul family and WWE crossover appeal with Logan Paul—a current WWE Superstar and former United States champion—Tommy Fury may prove to be a viable addition to WWE’s roster in the near future.

Oba Femi’s NXT Absence Sparks Speculation

NXT fans have also noticed the recent absence of former North American Champion Oba Femi following his loss at Halloween Havoc on October 27. Reportedly, Femi has not been backstage at NXT tapings for over a month. The reasons remain unclear—ranging from creative reset to possible injury or an impending main roster call-up.

Femi’s journey through NXT commenced with an impressive winning streak after his televised debut in April 2023, culminating in capturing the North American Championship. His 272-day title reign ended with a surprising loss to Tony D’Angelo, followed by a rematch defeat at Halloween Havoc.

Given his dominant performances and potential, Femi could be positioned to target the NXT Championship upon his return and might serve as a credible contender to unseat current champion Trick Williams.

What’s Next in WWE?

As the WWE landscape evolves, fans eagerly anticipate the further unfolding of storylines involving legendary figures and emerging talent alike. Roman Reigns’ openness to future encounters, Tommy Fury’s potential WWE integration, and Oba Femi’s anticipated comeback highlight an exciting period ahead for the WWE Universe.
