Arvest Bank Temporarily Disables Online Services After Account Information Glitch: What You Need to Know

Arvest Bank Resumes Online Services After Temporary Pause

Fayetteville, Arkansas — Arvest Bank announced on Friday that it has restored its online and mobile banking services following a temporary suspension that took place after some customers reported discrepancies in their account information. According to Tara Muck, a spokesperson for Arvest Bank, the issues arose during a routine system update conducted on Thursday evening.

The disruption affected a segment of customers who accessed their accounts through the Arvest Go mobile app and online banking portal. Reports initially suggested that some users were able to see what appeared to be other customers’ banking information, raising concerns about a potential data breach. However, Muck clarified that “we are not saying that customers saw other people’s account information. The information they saw was just not related to their account.”

In light of the situation, Arvest Bank’s technical team acted swiftly by disabling certain online and mobile banking functions. Muck stated that the team effectively identified the problem and took immediate measures to correct it. All affected services were restored before 4 p.m. on Friday.

Importantly, Muck emphasized that the issue was unrelated to a cyber incident or unauthorized access to the bank’s systems. During the outage, Arvest Bank’s physical branches and ATM services continued to operate normally, providing customers with access to their banking needs.

As one of the largest banks in the region, Arvest Bank maintains 229 locations across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. The events surrounding the service interruption have been closely monitored, with reassurance being communicated to customers regarding the safety of their accounts.

Arvest Bank, led by Chairman Jim Walton, who is recognized by Forbes as one of the wealthiest individuals globally, continues to focus on its commitment to providing secure and accessible banking services. Customers are encouraged to reach out to Arvest Bank’s customer service if they have any concerns or require further assistance related to their accounts.

For any future updates, customers may check Arvest Bank’s official website or contact their customer service team.
