Samsung and Yahoo Media Group Collaborate to Bring Live Sports and Financial Market Updates to Samsung News

Samsung has announced an exciting partnership with Yahoo Media Group to enhance the Samsung News platform for Galaxy users. Starting October 1, 2025, Samsung News will feature its first significant expansion by integrating real-time sports and financial market information powered by Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance.

Real-Time Sports Coverage Within Samsung News

With the launch of a dedicated Sports tab, Galaxy users can now access live scores, schedules, standings, and player statistics from leading sports leagues without leaving the Samsung News app. Fans can personalize their experience by following their favorite teams and sports, receiving up-to-the-minute updates and in-depth coverage including written content and video highlights. This integration brings a seamless and personalized sports viewing experience directly into the Samsung ecosystem.

Enhanced Financial Market Insights

In addition to sports, Samsung News is rolling out a new module powered by Yahoo Finance focused on real-time financial market tracking. The module displays live data on major U.S. stock indices and other relevant financial information. Alongside this, users can explore a curated feed of financial news headlines sourced from top news organizations to stay informed on the latest market trends and economic developments throughout the day.

Trusted Sources Delivering Quality Content

Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance have long been trusted names in digital media for authoritative sports and financial news. Their expertise ensures that Samsung News users receive reliable, accurate, and timely information. “Galaxy users turn to Samsung News multiple times a day for the latest headlines from the world’s top news sources,” said Maya Harris, VP & Head of Strategic Partnerships at Samsung’s TV & Mobile Services division. “Now they have another critical reason to tune in for access to live sports scores and financial markets updates.”

Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group, added, “We’re thrilled to partner with Samsung to integrate both Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance into the Samsung News experience. Together, we’re creating a smarter, faster way for Galaxy users to follow the scores, news, and market information that matters most to them.”

Comprehensive News Access and Customization

Beyond sports and finance, Samsung News continues to offer a broad range of news content spanning politics, entertainment, business, and more. Users benefit from Daily Briefings delivered twice daily by experienced news editors. The app supports a customizable news feed, giving users control over their news sources and topics of interest. Content partners include Yahoo, NBC News, ESPN, Fox Business, along with recent additions like Complex and Time Out.

Availability and Compatibility

This major update is currently available in English for users in the United States and Canada. Samsung plans to expand support for additional languages and territories in the near future. The enhanced Samsung News features are compatible with all Galaxy smartphones and tablets released from 2023 onward, ensuring wide accessibility across the product lineup.

With this partnership, Samsung continues to strengthen the Galaxy user experience by providing seamless access to vital information, helping users stay connected to the world of sports and finance all within a single app.
