Panama City, Panama – In a significant move towards digital currency integration, Panama’s capital city is set to accept cryptocurrency as a payment option for taxes and various municipal fees. This decision was announced by Mayor Mayer Mizrachi on April 15, 2023, and marks an important step in the growing acceptance of cryptocurrencies by local governments around the world.

In his statement on the social media platform X, Mizrachi explained that the city has partnered with a bank that will enable the immediate conversion of any digital assets received into U.S. dollars.
