Samsung and Yahoo Media Group Collaborate to Bring Live Sports and Financial Market Updates to Samsung News
In a significant enhancement to its news platform, Samsung has partnered with Yahoo Media Group to introduce live sports scores and real-time financial market information within Samsung News. This marks the first major expansion of features in Samsung News, delivering personalized and up-to-the-minute updates to Galaxy device users.
Accessible directly within the Samsung News app, Galaxy users can now enjoy a dedicated Sports tab and a financial market module powered by Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance. These additions provide seamless access to breaking sports headlines, live game scores, schedules, standings, and statistics from top sports leagues. Fans can customize their experience by following specific teams and sports, ensuring that the content is tailored to their interests.
For those monitoring financial markets, the new Yahoo Finance module offers real-time tracking of major U.S. stock indices alongside a curated selection of financial news headlines from leading sources. This setup allows users to stay informed about market movements and economic developments without leaving their Samsung ecosystem.
Maya Harris, Vice President and Head of Strategic Partnerships for Samsung’s TV & Mobile Services, emphasized the importance of this update: “Galaxy users turn to Samsung News multiple times a day for the latest headlines from the world’s top news sources. Now they have another critical reason to tune in for access to live sports scores and financial markets updates. With Yahoo’s trusted real-time information, Samsung News is a live destination for sports fans and market followers alike.”
Echoing this sentiment, Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group, stated, “We’re thrilled to partner with Samsung to integrate both Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance into the Samsung News experience. Together, we’re creating a smarter, faster way for Galaxy users to follow the scores, news, and market information that matters most to them.”
Additionally, Samsung News continues to offer comprehensive coverage on a wide range of topics including politics, entertainment, and business. Daily Briefings, handpicked by experienced news editors, are delivered twice daily to keep users informed on current events. The platform also supports extensive news customization through its News Feed, which incorporates content from notable partners such as NBC News, ESPN, Fox Business, Complex, and Time Out.
This feature expansion is currently available in English for users in the United States and Canada. It supports all Galaxy smartphones and tablets released from 2023 onward, with plans to extend support to additional languages and regions in the near future.
The collaboration between Samsung and Yahoo Media Group brings trusted, dynamic content directly to users’ fingertips, enhancing how Galaxy users stay connected with the sports and financial updates they care about most.
