Bleacher Report brings you the latest updates from the WWE Universe, covering insights from Roman Reigns, potential new WWE hopeful Tommy Fury, and ongoing discussions about NXT talent Oba Femi.

Roman Reigns Discusses WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes, and The Rock

In a recent interview on the SI Media podcast with Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina, Roman Reigns opened up about his experiences and thoughts surrounding the main event scenarios at WrestleMania 40. The event saw a highly anticipated matchup between Reigns and Cody Rhodes, with The Rock also involved in related storylines.

Reigns revealed that he was indifferent regarding whether his WrestleMania 40 main event opponent was Cody Rhodes or The Rock, emphasizing that the most important aspect was being in the spotlight and defending his championship. He said, "It doesn’t matter to me. I was the main event. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with… They are trying to stop history from happening. They are trying to take us off the pinnacle right now, so it was the same task in hand for me."

The build-up to the event had seen Rhodes, who won the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble, initially decline to face Reigns for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40, signaling that The Rock would challenge instead. However, fan backlash led Rhodes to change course, and The Rock turned heel, adopting the persona of “The Final Boss” and aligning with Reigns. On Night 1, The Rock and Reigns teamed up to defeat Rhodes and Seth Rollins, while on Night 2, Rhodes claimed the WWE Championship from Reigns in the main event.

When asked about the possibility of a future singles match against The Rock, Reigns expressed openness if the fans demand it, stating, "If that’s what the people want and The People’s Champ is down, I’m sure we can make something happen.” The Rock recently made an unexpected return at the WWE Bad Blood event, though his future involvement remains uncertain. With the Bloodline storyline continuing to heat up, especially with the WarGames match featuring the new and original iterations of the faction at Survivor Series, fans may yet see a Rock vs. Reigns showdown in the future.

Tommy Fury Hints at WWE Future

Boxer Tommy Fury, brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, hinted at a potential wrestling career with WWE during a recent visit to the company’s shows in the United Kingdom. Posting a YouTube video from backstage, he expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of working with WWE stars such as Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Gunther.

Fury remarked, "So guys, that is a night at the WWE complete. All the wrestlers showing love. Big up to Randy Orton. Absolutely amazing guy. Big up to Cody Rhodes, all of them, Gunther, the lot of them. Thank you to the WWE for showing us such appreciation. And I look forward to possibly climbing through them ropes one day. Who knows? But it’s been a great night."

Tommy Fury boasts a professional boxing record of 10-0 and is the only boxer to have defeated Jake Paul, a key crossover figure in combat sports and entertainment. Given Tyson Fury’s past WWE appearances—including a victory at Crown Jewel 2019 and a notable moment at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022—Tommy’s involvement could add an intriguing new dynamic to WWE, potentially setting up confrontations with Logan Paul, who is an active WWE Superstar.

Oba Femi’s Absence from NXT Raises Questions

Oba Femi, the former NXT North American Champion, has not been seen on NXT television or at backstage tapings since his loss to Tony D’Angelo at Halloween Havoc on October 27. This absence was reported by Fightful Select and may be related to backstage decisions or an opportunity for Femi to regroup after consecutive losses.

Femi made an impressive debut in April 2023 by winning the NXT Breakout Tournament and capturing the North American Championship from Dragon Lee, holding the title for a record 272 days before being dethroned. His sudden disappearance from NXT programming has led to speculation about his next move — whether it be a call-up to WWE’s main roster, a hiatus for injury recovery, or a storyline reset.

Should Femi return, he is widely viewed as a strong contender to pursue the NXT Championship, possibly challenging current titleholder Trick Williams.
