Samsung and Yahoo Media Group Partner to Bring Live Sports and Market Updates to Samsung News
Samsung has announced a significant enhancement to its Samsung News platform by partnering with Yahoo Media Group to deliver live sports scores and financial market information directly to Galaxy users. This marks the first major expansion of features within Samsung News, providing users with real-time, personalized updates powered by Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance.
Seamless Access to Live Updates
Starting October 1, 2025, Galaxy smartphone and tablet users across the U.S. and Canada can access a new Sports tab and a dedicated stock market module integrated within Samsung News. These features offer instant access to up-to-the-minute sports scores, game schedules, league standings, and player statistics from top sports leagues. Fans can customize their experience by following their favorite teams and sports, ensuring relevant content is prioritized.
In parallel, the financial market module delivers real-time tracking of major U.S. indices alongside a curated stream of financial headlines. Powered by Yahoo Finance, users receive expert market insights and breaking economic news without leaving the Samsung News app.
Trusted Sources Within the Samsung Ecosystem
Yahoo Media Group, known for its authoritative coverage in both sports and finance, provides a wealth of content including in-depth written articles, expert analysis, and video coverage. This integration positions Samsung News as a comprehensive destination for sports enthusiasts and market watchers seeking timely, reliable information all within the familiar Samsung ecosystem.
Maya Harris, Vice President and Head of Strategic Partnerships for Samsung’s TV & Mobile Services, highlighted the benefits of this partnership: “Galaxy users turn to Samsung News multiple times a day for the latest headlines from the world’s top news sources. Now they have another critical reason to tune in for access to live sports scores and financial markets updates. With Yahoo’s trusted real-time information, Samsung News is a live destination for sports fans and market followers alike.”
