Samsung and Yahoo Media Group Join Forces to Bring Live Sports and Financial Market Updates to Samsung News
In a significant enhancement to its digital news platform, Samsung has partnered with Yahoo Media Group to integrate live sports and financial market information directly into Samsung News. This marks the first major expansion of Samsung News’ features, designed to offer Galaxy users seamless, real-time access to personalized content within their Samsung ecosystem.
Real-Time Updates Powered by Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance
Starting October 1, 2025, Galaxy smartphone and tablet users can enjoy a new Sports tab along with a dedicated stock market module built in partnership with Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance. These trusted Yahoo services bring decades of authority in digital sports and finance media to deliver up-to-the-minute scores, game schedules, player statistics, and expert analysis, as well as live tracking of major U.S. financial indices and market movements.
This integration allows users to check scores and monitor market trends swiftly—all within Samsung News, eliminating the need to switch between multiple apps or sources. With features such as following favorite teams and tailored financial market streams, the app offers a highly personalized experience.
An Enhanced News Experience Tailored to User Interests
Beyond sports and finance, Samsung News continues to provide extensive coverage spanning politics, entertainment, business, and more. Users receive twice-daily Daily Briefings curated by experienced news editors, ensuring a comprehensive news diet. The News Feed functionality allows for customization through numerous content partners, including NBC News, ESPN, Fox Business, and recent additions like Complex and Time Out.
Statements from Leadership
Maya Harris, Vice President and Head of Strategic Partnerships for Samsung’s TV & Mobile Services, highlighted the new feature’s value, stating, “Galaxy users turn to Samsung News multiple times a day for the latest headlines from the world’s top news sources. Now they have another critical reason to tune in for access to live sports scores and financial markets updates. With Yahoo’s trusted real-time information, Samsung News is a live destination for sports fans and market followers alike.”
Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We’re thrilled to partner with Samsung to integrate both Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance into the Samsung News experience. Together, we’re creating a smarter, faster way for Galaxy users to follow the scores, news, and market information that matters most to them.”
