Samsung and Yahoo Media Group Collaborate to Bring Live Sports and Financial Market Updates to Samsung News
October 1, 2025
Samsung has announced a significant enhancement to its Samsung News app, featuring a new partnership with Yahoo Media Group to provide Galaxy users with real-time sports scores and financial market information. This collaboration marks the first major expansion of Samsung News’ capabilities, integrating live content powered by Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance.
Seamless Access to Live Sports and Market Data
Starting today, Samsung News users can enjoy a newly launched Sports tab and a dedicated stock market module within the app. These features allow users to instantly track sports game scores, schedules, standings, and detailed statistics from leading leagues, with the ability to personalize their experience by following favorite teams and sports.
Simultaneously, the financial market module delivers real-time updates on major U.S. indices and other market data, alongside a curated stream of financial news headlines from top sources. This upgrade ensures users stay well-informed about market movements and economic developments without leaving the Samsung ecosystem.
Trusted Content from Yahoo Media Group
As an established leader in digital media, Yahoo brings decades of expertise in both sports and financial news. Their authoritative coverage and real-time insights will serve as reliable sources within Samsung News, delivering breaking headlines, expert analysis, and comprehensive video and written content seamlessly to Galaxy users.
Maya Harris, Vice President and Head of Strategic Partnerships for Samsung’s TV & Mobile Services, emphasized the value of this integration: “Galaxy users turn to Samsung News multiple times a day for the latest headlines from the world’s top news sources. Now they have another critical reason to tune in for access to live sports scores and financial markets updates. With Yahoo’s trusted real-time information, Samsung News is a live destination for sports fans and market followers alike.”
Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group, also commented on the partnership: “We’re thrilled to partner with Samsung to integrate both Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance into the Samsung News experience. Together, we’re creating a smarter, faster way for Galaxy users to follow the scores, news, and market information that matters most to them.”
Expanding the Samsung News Experience
Beyond live sports and financial updates, Samsung News continues to provide users with a broad range of news including politics, entertainment, and business. Through its Daily Briefings feature, users receive twice-daily handpicked news selections crafted by professional editors. The app also offers customizable news feeds with content from a variety of partners such as NBC News, ESPN, Fox Business, and additions like Complex and Time Out.
Availability
This update is currently available in English within the United States and Canada and supports all Galaxy smartphones and tablets released from 2023 onward. Samsung plans to extend support for additional languages and regions in forthcoming releases.
With this partnership, Samsung News enhances its role as a comprehensive news and information hub for Galaxy users, combining timely sports and market data with trusted journalism across a wide spectrum of topics.
