Fairport Harbor Public Library to Host Informative Talk: “Curious About Crypto?”
Fairport Harbor, OH — The Fairport Harbor Public Library is set to host an engaging and educational presentation titled “Curious About Crypto?” as part of its ongoing Casual Conversations series. This free event will be held on Saturday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to noon at the library’s current location, 335 Vine Street in Fairport Harbor Village.
The presentation aims to demystify cryptocurrency, a financial technology that has garnered widespread attention but remains unfamiliar to many. George Phillips, a college administrator, adjunct professor, and entrepreneur, will lead the talk. Phillips will explain what cryptocurrency is, how it operates, and clear up common misconceptions surrounding this increasingly popular form of digital currency.
Joining Phillips will be a representative from Capital Planners, a Beachwood-based investment firm, who will provide additional insights into cryptocurrency’s role in the investment landscape.
George Phillips brings a wealth of experience to the discussion. He currently serves as the director of Graduate Programs & Veterans Support and as an adjunct instructor in The School of Business & Social Sciences at Lake Erie College. His diverse background includes work in private and public business sectors, higher education, and nonprofit organizations. Phillips is also an accomplished author, having written the book “Enhance: A Guide for Men to Navigate the Road Less Traveled.” Beyond academia and entrepreneurship, he is a voting member of the College Football Hall of Fame and holds board positions with Applewood Centers and the Lake Metropolitan Housing Authority.
The session will feature a PowerPoint presentation followed by an interactive question-and-answer segment, providing attendees the opportunity to deepen their understanding and clarify any doubts they may have about cryptocurrency.
