Reigns revealed he wasn’t disappointed about facing Cody Rhodes instead of The Rock in the WrestleMania 40 main event, emphasizing that being in the spotlight was what mattered most.
“It doesn’t matter to me. I was the main event. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with,” Reigns said. “They are trying to stop history from happening. It was the same task in hand for me regardless of who it was.”
Originally, after Rhodes won the 2024 Royal Rumble men’s match, it seemed he would not challenge Reigns for the WWE Championship, leading to speculation that The Rock would take that spot. Femi, who rose quickly after debuting in televised NXT in April 2023—capturing the NXT Breakout Tournament and then the North American title with a record 272-day reign—has yet to be seen on NXT television or backstage. The reasons for his absence remain unclear, with possibilities ranging from injury and a potential main roster promotion to a strategic hiatus following two recent losses.
Industry insiders suggest Femi remains a strong contender to challenge for the NXT Championship in the future, possibly as an opponent to current champion Trick Williams.
