Roman Reigns on The Rock, Cody Rhodes, Tommy Fury Eyes WWE, and NXT Rumors on Oba Femi

In the latest updates from the WWE Universe, Roman Reigns shared his thoughts on WrestleMania 40 opponents The Rock and Cody Rhodes. Meanwhile, boxer Tommy Fury hinted at a possible future in WWE, and NXT star Oba Femi has reportedly been absent from recent tapings, sparking speculation about his status.

Roman Reigns Reflects on WrestleMania 40 and Potential Match with The Rock

Roman Reigns recently appeared on the SI Media podcast, where he discussed his WrestleMania 40 main event experience and potential future matchups, including a dream bout with his cousin, The Rock.

During the interview with Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina, Reigns revealed that he was indifferent about facing Cody Rhodes instead of The Rock at WrestleMania 40. "It doesn’t matter to me. I was the main event. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with,” said Reigns. “It was the same task in hand for me — to defend the title and make history."

The road to WrestleMania 40 initially saw Rhodes winning the Royal Rumble and declaring he would not challenge Reigns for the WWE Championship, positioning The Rock as the expected challenger. However, after mixed fan reactions, Rhodes reversed his decision, and The Rock aligned with Reigns as “The Final Boss.” The Rock and Reigns then teamed up to defeat Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night 1 of WrestleMania 40, with Rhodes ultimately capturing the WWE Championship from Reigns on Night 2. When asked about a potential Reigns vs. The Rock match in the future, Reigns expressed openness, emphasizing the influence of fan enthusiasm: "If that’s what the people want and The People’s Champ is down, I’m sure we can make something happen.” The Rock made a surprise appearance at WWE Bad Blood in October but has not yet revealed his intentions for the company. With the upcoming WarGames match at Survivor Series featuring The Bloodline factions, speculation is growing about The Rock’s next steps.

Tommy Fury Shows Interest in Joining WWE

Tommy Fury, the undefeated British professional boxer and younger brother of former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, teased a potential wrestling career with WWE. In a recent YouTube video showcasing his backstage experience during WWE’s UK tour, Fury expressed enthusiasm about the wrestling environment and possibilities ahead.

"Big up to Randy Orton… Cody Rhodes, Gunther, the lot of them. Thank you to WWE for showing us such appreciation. And I look forward to possibly climbing through those ropes one day. Who knows?" Fury said.

Fury’s connection to the boxing and entertainment worlds, along with his family’s WWE history—Tyson Fury wrestled Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel 2019 and made a notable appearance at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022—makes him a strong candidate for a WWE crossover. Given Tommy’s undefeated boxing record and a famous victory over Jake Paul, there is potential for compelling storylines, especially involving the Paul brothers, of whom Logan Paul is a WWE Superstar and former United States Champion.

NXT Star Oba Femi Reportedly Absent Amid Uncertain Status

Oba Femi, former NXT North American Champion, has not appeared on NXT tapings for the past month, raising eyebrows among fans and insiders. Following his loss of the North American Championship to Tony D’Angelo at Halloween Havoc on October 27, Femi has been noticeably absent from televised NXT programming.

Since debuting in April 2023, Femi quickly established himself with a dominant run, including winning the NXT Breakout Tournament and a 272-day title reign. However, consecutive losses to D’Angelo have paused his television presence.

The reasons behind Femi’s absence are unclear. It could be a strategic move by WWE to let his character reset, an injury-related break, or a sign of an impending call-up to WWE’s main roster. If or when he returns, Femi is considered a strong contender for the NXT Championship and could be positioned as the next top challenger to current titleholder Trick Williams.
